Inverclyde Voices began on 12th September 2005 with around 60 members coming along to the first rehearsal. This quickly grew to over 100 members in the weeks that followed. The choir was founded by Palma Allan in response to a direct request from senior pupils who wanted to continue singing after leaving the Junior/Senior Choir with eight years vocal training under their belts. Many parents and friends also wanted to join. The aim of Inverclyde Voices has always been to offer the opportunity to sing together and bring simple but uplifting repertoire to people from all walks of life. We have grown and developed together over the last seven years since the choir’s inception and the sense of camaraderie, one of the many benefits of singing in a large choir, has grown tremendously. We now have almost 140 members who come together every Monday evening to sing and meet at several other points in the year to socialise!
Virtual Concert December 2020
Inverclyde Voices' 2020 Christmas Celebration
Inverclyde Voices have continued to sing together online throughout the Coronavirus pandemic and have supported each other as well as our local community. At Christmastime we would normally have several concerts scheduled to support local charities. Unfortunately this isn't possible this year but we are delighted to be able to bring you music from some of our past Christmas concerts with our guests the Inverclyde Schools' Senior and Junior Choirs, to allow you to join with us in keeping the music of Christmas alive in 2020. From the comfort of your own home, you can sing your favourite carols and listen to a variety of festive songs to put you in the Christmas mood. If you are able to make a small donation to support our local Hospice, we would really appreciate it. Thank you and have a lovely Christmas!
