GERARD GORDON graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2004 with a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Music. During this time Gerard studied Timpani and Percussion with Ruairi Donaldson, and piano with renowned Scottish pianist, Jean Hutchison.

Gerard is very proud to be a former pupil of Notre Dame High School and was delighted when he was appointed to the post of Principal Teacher of Music in the school in 2007. He directs the school junior, senior and senior girls' choirs, as well as the school orchestra and concert band and he feels very privileged to work with such talented young people helping them to achieve great success in competitions such as the Inverclyde Music Festival each year. He continues to work with the Inverclyde School’s Choirs as accompanist/tutor and over the years has enjoyed preparing them for competitions and performances at national and international level and accompanying them on their travels.

Gerard is very interested in Theatre and really enjoys producing and being the Musical Director for the school’s two productions each year. A particular highlight for him was the sell out run of the 'Les Miserables' school edition in June 2012. In the last year, Gerard has also played Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music with Sideline Productions and Mickey in Blood Brothers with Thistle Theatre Company.

Gerard is delighted to be taking on the role of accompanist with Inverclyde Voices.
